Requirements for NBB Students

Degree Requirements

Requirements for the B.S. Degree

The major requires the foundation courses listed below (20 semester hours) 24 hours for Incoming Freshman class of 2016 plus a minimum of nine NBB courses (thirty-six semester hours) in the field of Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. Majors must take the sequence of four core courses, which include NBB 201, NBB 301, NBB 302, and NBB 401. In addition to the core NBB courses, a minimum of five NBB electives are needed. All courses to fulfill the NBB major must be taken for a letter grade.

The foundation courses required for all NBB majors are the following introductory foundation courses:(QTM 100 for incoming freshman class of 2016); Biology 141/151 and Biology 142/152; Chemistry 141/171 and Chemistry 142/172; and Math 115 (116). Students are encouraged to complete these courses by the end of their sophomore year.
