NBB Studies in Melbourne

New! A program that has been designed specifically for YOU (Emory Biology, Chemistry, and NBB students in their junior or senior year who are interested in spending a semester abroad in Melbourne, Australia)!    As a student on the program, you will undertake a research-focused study abroad experience while also taking biology, neuroscience, or chemistry courses at the University of Melbourne; so, you won’t fall behind in your progress towards your Emory major. 

Want to Know the Timeline? The program is a semester-long program and will be open every Fall and Spring (Application deadline for Fall is March 1st; October 1st deadline for Spring).  The academic year at the University of Melbourne is split into two semesters: Semester 1 runs from early February to mid June; Semester 2 runs from early July to Mid November.

Are You Eligible? Requirements: Rising junior, cumulative GPA of a 3.3 or above, & a letter of recommendation from a faculty member in your major department.

In addition to the above requirements, if you would like to participate in undergraduate research while at the University of Melbourne, you will need to satisfy the following requirements:  1. At least one semester of research with a research group in Biology/NBB or Chemistry.           2.Letter of recommendation from the student’s Emory research advisor

What About Courses?

You will take either:

• 2 science lecture courses, 1 research course, and 1 non-science course
• 3 science lecture courses and 1 non-science course
